【摘要】:ThisguidecoversmechanismsthatcanbeusedtoprotecthealthcareinformationwhichisbeingtransmittedovernetworksusingtheInternetProtocolSuite(IPS).ThisincludestheactualInternetitself,aswellascorporateintranetsconstructedfromoff-the-shelfcomponentsimplementingtheseprotocols.Anorganization'ssecuritypolicywilldeterminewhenthesemechanismsareused,basedonriskanalysis.TheInternetEngineeringTaskForce(IETF)isdefiningsecuritystandardsforusewiththeIPS.Thisguidecoverstherelevantstandardsandrecommends,whereneeded,particularoptions(suchascryptographictransformations)tobeusedwiththestandards.MoststandardsreferencedhereareproposedstandardsissuesasRequestforComments(RFC's).Someareinthedraftstage,butarestableenough(andwidelyenoughimplemented)toberecommendedforuseatthistime.
