【摘要】:Usethispracticetoidentifyandmeasuretheamountofactualandeffectivefloorareathatwillbeunavailabletooccupantsfortheplacementofpeoplex2019;sworkplaces,furniture,andequipmentorforcirculation.FindingsfromuseofthispracticeareintendedforoptionalinclusionwithreportsoffloorareameasuredinaccordancewithPracticeE1836/E1836MorinaccordancewithANSI/BOMAZ65.1x2013;1996.thispracticeisnotintendedforuseforregulatorypurposes,norforfirehazardassessment,norforfireriskassessment.1.1Thispracticespecifieshowtomeasurecertaincharacteristicsofabuilding,knownasbuildinglossfeatures,insidetheexteriorgrossareaofafloorandhowtocalculatetheamountofactualandeffectivefloorareathatwillbenotbeavailablefortheplacementofpeoplex2019;sworkplaces,furniture,equipment,orforcirculation,ifusingstandardfurnishingsandorthogonalfurnituresystems.1.2Thispracticecanbeusedtospecifyaperformancerequirementtolimittheamountoffloorareathatmaybetakenupbybuildinglossfeatures.1.3Thispracticecanbeusedtoassesshowwelladesign(s)foranofficefacilitymeetsaperformancerequirementregardingfloorarea.1.4Thispracticecanbeusedtoassesshowwellaconstructedofficebuildinghasmetaperformancerequirementregardingfloorarea.1.5Thispracticeisnotintendedforandnotsuitableforuseforregulatorypurposes,firehazardassessment,andfireriskassessment.1.6Usersofthispracticeshouldrecognizethat,insomesituations,theamountofcertainactualandeffectivefloorarealossesmaybemitigatedtosomedegreeatsomecostbycustom-tailoringspacesandcreatingspeciallyfittedfurnishingsandcarpentrytogetsomevaluefromspacewhichwouldnototherwisebeusable.1.7ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththestandard.1.8Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
